Her experience is diverse, as she has worked in family practice, cardiology, psychiatric & addiction medicine. She has been in the medical field for as long as she can remember and says it is a true calling to her, not an occupation.
“My mission is to educate those suffering from addiction and co-occurring disorders; so they understand it is a brain disorder. It is not a matter of will or weakness. But rather it takes much courage to reach out for help; thus, the power comes from bringing light to the dark. There is always hope & healing & we must educate in order to end the stigma of addiction and mental health disorders."
Utilizing evidence-based treated, Kelly has treated hundreds of beautiful people with mental health illnesses & addiction. She says it is near & dear to her heart as she has experienced it within her family, so she has the compassion & empathy it takes to genuinely care for those with the disease.
Due to her great passion for helping in the opioid epidemic, she was appointed state chair of AZ in 2018 for an Addiction Policy forum.
Kelly began her career as an RN in 1987 and always felt blessed to be in the field to help others. There is no more extraordinary privilege than to be on the journey with those with the most suffering of disease where we can help each person become the best version of their s selves. Getting to the root of the issue is the ultimate goal for long-term recovery. She is thrilled to be a member of the Soul Surgery team - where the healing begins.
